Instructions
Note: you can use the interactive model of the main page above, to get a preliminary idea of what interacting with the real main page
of the DC Password Manager is like.
1) To create a new password record, while in Default / Read mode, click on the Category button, at the top left of the screen, and select the category from the list which appears, you would like your password record to be associated with /displayed under, by default.
2) Next, click on the
Add New Record button at the top, right of the main page of the application. This puts the main page of the app into edit mode.
(Note: instead of clicking on the Add New Record button above, you may alternately click on the Add Record menu command, on the main menu
of the DC Password Manager, to obtain the same result. See here for more information.)
3) Enter a name for the password record in the Name field near the top, left of the main page. Ensure you enter a value, and one that
is not the duplicate of a value found in another a record. (Note: if you do not enter a value, or you enter a value that is the same as one found in another record
[the DC Password Manager doesn't care about differences in the capitization of letters], you will encounter an error.)
4) Continue to enter values in the rest of the fields for the password record.
(See here for how you may enter data into the Password field - including via the random password generator.
See here for how you must enter data into the Categories field, which associates your record with one or more categories.)
When you are finished entering data into the fields of your record, click the
Save Record
button to save your record. Note: you may alternately click on the
Clear Changes button, to completely roll back and abandon the creation of your password record.
(Note: instead of clicking on the Save Record or Clear Change button above, you may alternately click on the Save Record or Clear Changes menu command, on the main menu
of the DC Password Manager, to obtain the same result. See here for more information.)
